Wedding Ring... Still There!
Despite rumors of a breakup, Ashton Kutcher kept his wedding ring on during a trip to a motorcycle shop in L.A. on Thursday. The star walked out with two bike helmets – could one be for Demi? (Photo courtesy of X17Online. For more photos, click here.)

I'm not a hometown boy but have a cagtote and have been coming to Southampton for over 20 years. Setting aside the information and discussion around the safety of a nuclear waste repository (nwr) important as it is, I'm most concerned about the short-term impact on the community. We have already seen the tension and animosity created by the decision of Council to have Saugeen Shores considered as a possible site. The economic impact on farming, tourism, and local businesss is yet to be determined and certainly will not be positive as the Town proceeds with the next stage in the siting process. Unfortunately, optics and perception are as significant as and often more impactful than reality. The Town needs to have an impact study done asap by a disinterested third party who can present a thorough and unbiased perspective on the full impact of not only locating a (nwr) in Saugeen Shores, but also on even the mere exercise of considering siting one here.

The regulation of all nuclaer materials and activities in Canada falls under the responsibility of the federal government. It is the federal Minister of Natural Resources that is responsible for administering the Nuclear Fuel Waste Act and ensuring that the Nuclear Waste Management Organization complies with the Act as it implements a plan for managing nuclaer waste over the long term. Perhaps rather focusing your efforts so locally, you should direct some of this pushback to the federal Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Joe Oliver? Currently the opposition is too local. You need to go bigger to the federal level. Currently i cannot imagine you will be successful. This opposition currently doesn't have the weight or the teeth. You need bigger names & organizations involved .Nancy Gauthier (Toronto, ON)(BTW you should post more comments-or eliminate this window)
