my company is now denialg with this SORBS problem as well. we've been blacklisted for about a month and it doesn't look like it's gonna stop anytime soon. I'm guessing earthlink still uses them because I got a bounceback today from earthlink from one of my users. this is very frustrating for me since everyone here already thinks the IT department is full of idiots because the company wouldn't spring for real anti-virus. Since our blacklist problems(we've been de-listed from everything but SORBS), we've cleaned the machine that was infected and even talked the company into buying real antivirus software(we've been using the free @$!#? buuuut, although no spam is leaving our network, we're still on the list. nice little extortion scheme he has going there and i have a feeling my company will pay the fine . i really hope this @$#!? gets busted.-Adam

Way to use the internet to help poeple solve problems!

This is my first comment post, so bear with me. I came over from Michael Martine's site and alguhoth I understand the need to curb this before I becomes a real problem, I'm confused about what is acceptable. If I had signed my post with The Backfire Blog, the name of my site, would that cause me to be marked as spam, or am I just using my brand?I think Michael has a slightly different take on this. He seems to be taking a zero tolerance stance on the issue, which is fine. It's his blog and he can do what he wants, but if you have a commentator that comments often using a set signature style, in the name of the community , do you as the blog owner have a certain responsibility to let them participate in that manner?I don't really know the answer to that. I'm just tossing out the philosophical question.

I would like to thnkx for the efforts you have put in winritg this blog. I'm hoping the same high-grade blog post from you in the upcoming as well. In fact your creative winritg skills has inspired me to get my own web site now. Really the blogging is spreading its wings fast. Your write up is a great example of it.

You left the other country for a reason, therefore, there should be no association to the former country. One is not a German-American or Irish-American, Russian-American or African-American we are just AMERICAN period. She won as a US citizen not a Muslim (myself not knowing what area of the Islamic countries she is from) citizen.
